Spinal Cord Stimulation Therapy

Updated: Jul 18, 2019

Spinal Cord Stimulators (SCS) are implantable neuromodulation devices used to treat chronic pain by generating mild electrical pulses to nerves along the spinal cord (dorsal column) which interrupt the perception of pain as it travels to the brain.

Spinal Cord Stimulation Therapy is often considered for those who suffer from chronic pain and have not responded to more conservative therapy.

With Spinal Cord Stimulation Therapy, our goals are multi-faceted:

1. An increase in activity and daily function. 2. Many patients are able to be weaned off of pain medications once Spinal Cord Stimulation Therapy is in place. 3. Less chronic pain.

A good candidate for Spinal Cord Stimulation Therapy can be determined during a consultation with Pain Management Specialist, Dr. Timothy Groth. To schedule a consultation, call 631-543-1440.
